Saint Mary’s Academy Model United Nations (SMAMUN) is a nationally revered, non-profit union headed by the student body of one of the oldest, most historic schools of Pakistan, Saint Mary's Academy. Its objectives include introducing significant, fruitful and quality debate meanwhile endowing its participants with the familiarity of working in the United Nations(UN) and providing them with a chance to display their talent and forge life-long social connections. Ever since its inception in 2006, SMAMUN has had the status of being the largest high-school and most successful MUN conference of Pakistan, second only to the leading Lahore University of Management Sciences Model United Nations (LUMUN) conference.
This year, we endeavor to not only create awareness and trigger interest in the young minds of the delegates about current, crucial issues grasping the whole world but to revolutionize the MUN experience for our delegates. Amidst all the regular MUN hoopla and intense committee proceedings, the delegates will find the need to step up their game with each passing day to keep up with the competition, to convincingly present their stance and become the one who gets noticed in a committee housing numerous talented speakers. SMAMUN '10 is being held in collaboration with the energetic Future Leaders of Pakistan (FLP), which is a not-for-profit organisation committed to making leaders of Pakistan. There will be a daily hour long leadership workshop, as well as other exciting activities planned by FLP.

SMAMUN '10 will be hosting a total of 10 committees in which delegates will sit and speak as the ambassadors of their respective allotted countries and present their political stance in a compelling yet diplomatic manner. Over a span of 4 days, delegates will not only debate upon various motions concerning the matters at hand, but also produce customary UN format resolutions regarding the imperative international issues. Furthermore, SMAMUN '10 has set out to not only enlighten but also entertain meanwhile retaining its motive of revolutionizing the whole MUN experience. Keeping that in mind, the done-to-death Global Village will this year be taken over by a Global Parade. A festivity of its own kind, the Global Parade will witness every country performing on stage to showcase their national traditions meanwhile celebrating the spirit and culture of SMAMUN too.
A concert and a dinner night remain the usual attractions but the most anticipated night of the conference will be 11th of July when the delegates will get to celebrate and witness on the big screen, the FIFA World Cup Final like never before. The country spirit will soar and the excitement at SMAMUN '10 will hit the roof as the World Cup finds its winner and the delegates witness the history together. With the promise of keeping our delegates entertained and enlightened, with the mission of making this conference an experience to relish for them and with the intention of sending them back home with the realization of their power and responsibility as the youthful citizens of Pakistan, we proudly present to our delegates, SMAMUN 2010.
